To connect your Shopify store with Internal Intelligence, the first step is to create a private application in your Shopify account, for which the steps are below:

Step 1: Log into your Shopify account.

Step 2: From the menu on the left-hand side click on the “Apps”.

Step 3: At this point, you should be inside the Apps page. Now click on the “Managed private apps” link at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: If this is the first time you are creating a private app, you will be asked if you want to enable private app development. Click on the “Enable Private app development” button.

Step 5: Next, you will be presented with a page that wants you to confirm that you are enabling the private app development feature in your store. Tick all checkboxes and click on “Enable Private app development”.

At this point, you should see the following page that shows you have successfully enabled this feature:

Step 6: So far we have only enabled the ability to create private apps in your store. Next, we proceed with creating the actual app. Click on “Create private app”. You will be presented with a form. For “Private app name” user “Omnilytics Internal Intelligence” and for Emergency developer email use “developers@omnilytics.co”.

Step 7: Next, click on the “Show inactive Admin API permissions” link.

You should see new options are now shown. For the following options, change the permission to “Read access”:

Inventory

Orders

Products

Next, click on the “Save” button located at the top of the page.

A confirmation page will pop up. Click on the “Create app” button to finally create the app.

At this point you have created the private app successfully.

Step 8: Under the Admin API, you should be able to see API Key, Password, Example URL and Shared Secret. From there you only need to copy the Example URL and use it during the onboarding process to the Internal Intelligence dashboard.
